NEW SCAM – SMS LINKS TO HACK YOUR ONLINE ACCOUNRS

NEW SCAM – STOP CLICKING ON LINKS ON SMS

You might receive this type of message from a bank. In this case BDO.

Looks legit, right?
As you can see, the links say BDO but they are slightly different.
They use different numbers too.
Local numbers. Not official BDO.
Another type of verification. This is clearly a scam.
Another one.

If you click the link, the next site will ask you to enter your online banking username and password. Highly possible for customers not to check the URL of the link they clicked before typing in.

People have lost ₱150,000 or more from their online accounts because they’ve provided their information negligently. Since online transfers is on ₱50,000 intervals, you will find that you lose money quickly.

As you can see, the source cellphone number is the not the official BDO source

If you click the link, and you lost money, the bank will hold you responsible and will not return the money back.

A similar type is via email. So always check the sender because once you clicked the link and type your username and password, they can access your account or change your password.

Looks legit but check out the typos from the site.

Please share this so others are beware.
