I’m nuts.

Just climbed 25 flights of stairs, thanks to an annual company contest where the five fastest stair climbers get NT$2,000 each.

When I got to the top, I was huffing and puffing and so out of energy. I tell you, I almost lost consciousness and could see bright stars. I had to sit down and couldn’t stand up because my legs hurt too much, and had to consume more than 10 puffs of oxygen just to get my color back.

My boss, who’s very fit, was able to finish in 5 minutes 20 seconds. That’s a pretty good score.

Before we started the contest, she jokingly told Jasmin (another colleague) and I, “If you beat me, I’ll kiiiiilll you…”

*Was that just a threat?*

Anyway, I hope she’s seriously joking ’cause I finished in 4 minutes 36 seconds.

Among 200 competitors, I think I have a good chance of winning.

Otherwise, I’m happily content with a shoe dryer, Sun Merry bakery goods, and a big silk blanket (great for the winter).

But given the almost death state I was in, don’t really think it’s worth it. 🙁

Anyway, we’ll see how things go. I should at least win after all the trauma I’ve gotten myself into.

Added on December 27, Tuesday:

Just found out that I came in 3rd place, though I still win that NT$2,000 cash prize! My boss miscalculated btw and came in first at 4 minutes 22 seconds.
