I am in an Internet cafe who is charging me insane amounts of money just to write to my parents and leave everyone a message.

First of all, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

This year hasn’t particularly been easy, but it’s been a productive year with lots of adventures, blood, sweat and tears, especially in the career front.

I’m currently in Van Vieng in Laos and just spent the day having a leisurely satay breakfast, cave tubing and kayaking the entire day in a lazy river.

Afterwards, we caught the sunset, had a nice chocolate milo pancake made from the best pancake maker in Van Vieng, and then enjoyed a relaxing traditional Laos massage for 30,000 kip (around USD3). Ahhh…. this is life.

I can finally forget my troubles (though would be roughly reminded of them as soon as I get back) and just enjoy the present. Also met a new friend who I’m going rock climbing with tomorrow, and his story is just as interesting as you can hear. My time is running out though so will just share with you his story when I get back.

In a few days, I’ll be in Luang Prabang — one of UNESCO’s world heritage sites, and my traveling companion claims it’s one of the best places on earth.
