Hopefully, this won’t turn into a controversial entry where readers would chew my head off for making such a hasty generalization. Nevertheless, you must admit it’s true… In a general sense, a lot of guys are jerks, while women are stupid enough to accept them for the jerks that they are.

My friend Michael gave me a call after lunch. After hearing me complain about my uncommitted man the other night, he had the chance to talk to his classmate Winny, who was heartbroken after she found out that the guy she was going out with, didn’t really breakup with his girlfriend while still going out with her.

“I can’t believe how jerks we men are,” Mike moaned.

“You’d better believe it. Lots of guys are total *ssholes,” I retorted.

After which, he told me the whole story.

The girlfriend of Winny’s guy (they’re merely dating at this point) called Winny up and told her that she and the guy were still going out. Turns out, she was accusing Winny of stealing her man. When Winny confronted the guy, the guy tried to deflect the accusation. But afterwards, admitted that he still hasn’t broken up with his girlfriend, but was going to any day now…

The worst part is, after the conversation, the guy went around saying that Winny is one crazy chick who keeps on following him and that he’s not really interested in her. Michael and I knew this wasn’t the case since we actually saw the guy pursuing Winny.

Anyway, the guy talked to Winny afterwards saying that he already broke up with his girlfriend, and would want to try one more time… and poor Winny feels sorry for him and wants to get back with him all over again.

To which, we’d like to say, Hello! Earth to Winny! DUMP HIM ALREADY! Jerk alert!

But when a girl is in love, we know she can’t… she won’t give him up. Girls are pretty strong, but when it comes to love, most of us turn into marshmallows. And so, Mike and I came to the conclusion that it’s true: A lot of men are jerks. But at the same time, women in love are stupid to let the man trample all over them.

Guys are pretty funny sometimes.

Like today, I got a good surprise when I opened my email.

There it was… an email from my ex, from whom I haven’t heard from for almost 3 months.

*surprised*

Omigosh, he’s finally starting to resume communication again!

On my last email to him, I told him that if he wanted to be friends again (he had indicated he still wanted to save the friendship), he would have to make the first move. The relationship was already over back then, and I didn’t want him to think I’m still pining for something.

Two and a half-months later, I get his first email. Pretty short, but then again, he wasn’t really a letter writer anyway.

In his email, he said hi and told him he was getting sick of his job since he was working till 9PM everyday. He’s thinking of quitting and resting. And then, he asked me how I was.

Simple, yet friendly.

I’ll reply when I feel like it.

I don’t feel like it now.

Mike asked me if I had any hopes of getting back with Michan (my ex’s name) again.

To which, I adamantly replied, “No.”

“What if he wants to give it another go?” Mike asked.

To which, I still said, “No way. We’re over.”

Over is over. He’s had his chance, and was a sh*tty boyfriend. There’s no way I was going back there again.

Maybe at that time, because I was in love, I was willing to shade my eyes from Michan’s faults and the way he treated me. Despite his many weaknesses, I still could accept him for who he was.

I don’t care if guys in lust treat women differently. But he’s had his chance, and he blew it. I still think he’s a great guy, and wants to keep him as a friend. But anything more than that… nah.

I think I’ll pass.

Because I was in love then, I was stupid. I accepted his crap because I loved him. Lots of girls become stupid when we’re in love. And that’s the truth.

Good thing, most guys are equally stupid too. Once they get a girl, they don’t treat her well. They don’t really appreciate her to the point that they break up and the girl’s heart breaks. However, once the woman is gone, a lot of them suddenly realize how much they have to lose by letting such a great woman leave.

They try to get her back. Some even beg the woman to come back.

Some do… if they’re stupid enough. Or if you’ve really changed.

But sometimes, it’s just too late. The woman’s already moved on. And nothing you can say or do will make her come back.

I’ve moved on. And am glad Michan’s and I can be friends once again… but anything more than that, sorry.

Sorry bud. You’ve had your chance.

I’m no longer stupid anymore.
