It world be impossible to do this in one day – there is about 5 hours of travel time involved in this itinerary (probably more) and the palace museum takes at least 3 hours (depending on how detailed you are).
You’re right Yuri especially on the musuem. You can easily spend half a day in it. However, travel time can be more conservative. Subways in Taipei are a joy to ride in and takes you 1 hour tops to get from one end to the other. There’s a lot of walking involved but you will be sightseeing too. 🙂
So yes, this can be done in 1.5 days to 2 depending on the schedule.
