Babies!

I want babies!!!

And no, I’m not really talking about babies who poop, and cry and wake you up at night.

Instead, I want the following babies:

1) Panasonic Lumix FX01
– with Leica lens (whatever the heck that means, JS said that it meant the lens were pretty good!)
PRO: Ultra-sharp pictures, anti-blur technology CON: Doesn’t look as cool as the Sony T10
2.) Sony T10 — ooh baby, give it to me baby!!!

And it comes in 4 different colors as well!

Just can’t decide between the silver and the pink. Unfortunately, this baby doesn’t come out till the beginning of September and I just can’t really wait!

PRO: Looks uber-cool! Great 1cm macro feature
CON: Pictures are more bluish than usual, easily breaks after the warranty expires, according to my Japanese friends, Available in two weeks, Red eye still prominent, Weak flash

And how about this big-ass baby:

3.) Canon Powershot SD700 / IXY Digital 800 IS – for more “natural ” pictures

Pro: Has cool color effect feature (e.g., color swap)
Con: Heavier at 193 grams, looks too natural and slightly blurry to me

Prospective price range: NT$12,000++

*sobs*

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!

This will put me to the pauper’s house.

But I need a camera.

My trusty Pentax broke down a few weeks ago and I need a replacement.

Considering I’ve been working long hours, I do think I deserve some sort of reward.

Anyway, I’m still deciding which one of the babies I want to get.

What do you guys think?

The Lumix, the Sony or the Canon Powershot?

Appreciate your opinions.

In the meantime, I got myself another baby!

TA-DAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Yes, my friend. It’s the new iPod Nano (white with blue covering)!

For only NT$6,500 freaking bucks (original price is NT$8,000)!

Ooooh, I’m so excited.

I could just kiss JS for bringing me to the cheaper reseller.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

*mwah, mwah, mwah*

So why am I spending so much of my hard-earned $$$ to buy these ultra-cool stuff?!

In two weeks time, I’d be climbing the highest mountain in Taiwan — Jade Mountain — which is 3,952 meters above sea level.

Yes, I admit it… I am freakin’ nuts.

And I don’t know how I got myself into this adventure, but I’m still going.

Yes, I know… I must have SM tendencies. 🙁

We leave on Friday night, climb all day Saturday and come back late in the evening Sunday.

Knowing myself, I know I’d complain the whole way through:

Raven, are you freaking stupid on signing up for this trip?”

“My gosh, my feet hurts so badly!”

“Ooooh, I am soooo hungry.”

“Why am I doing this when I could just be relaxing at home!!!”

Regardless, I also do know this — after I’m done, all of my complaints will drift away and all that’s left is appreciating the spectacular sights and the feeling of accomplishment in conquering the tallest mountain in Taiwan.

Hence, I need my babies to help me with the trip.

The iPod Nano to energize me and keep me going even if the going gets tough…

And a digital camera to chronicle every amazing moment when I climb Yu Shan!

Oh, and I need hiking boots too!

God, I’m going to be so poor after this month’s done. ;-(

But it should be worth it.

Life is short.

You just have to live it.

And that’s exactly what I am doing. 🙂

Be it surfing last weekend, rock climbing this weekend, that’s what life is all about.

Living it.

Even if you do have to work 12-hour days on the weekday.

Just live it.

C’est la vie guys!
