The Ex Strikes Back!

I just found out that my ex-boyfriend will come to Taipei this week.

*dun-dun-dun-duuuuuuuun*

It will be the first time we’ll see each other since January.

Mind you, we broke up eight months ago.

For those who aren’t updated, my first boyfriend was Japanese and it was a tumulous up and down relationship which ended in a whimper after he moved back to Japan for seven months.

I’ll probably see him.

How do I feel?

As of the moment, I feel nothing.

And yet, I don’t really know what to expect when I see him.

I don’t have any expectations at all.

In a way, I’m looking forward to seeing him and catching up on good times.

Likewise, I don’t want to see him and just move on with my life.

It’s complicated enough already.

And yet, I should.

Because we are still “friends.

*gulp*

Seeing him will bring back painful memories…

I look back to what I was then, and I am embarrassed to what I’ve allowed to happen.

It was not a relationship made in heaven.

It also brings back a painful reminder that I’ve been letting the same thing happen again.

*Mariah Carey’s new song, ‘Shake It Off’ plays in the background*

Maybe I should listen to the song, to what my heart and everyone is saying…

I don’t want the past to resurrect again. 🙁

I hate it when this happens.

=======================================

The weekend has been a relatively busy one for me, and yet very relaxing as well.

On Saturday, we did a bike ride at the Danshui/Bali area.

The weather was cool, and it was really exhilirating to go around the bike path.

And I’m proud to say that I’ve only hit the grass ledge once…

almost hit an old man once…

fell off my bike once…

and only hurt my butt all throughout the event.

No bruises! Yay!

Not bad for a beginner!

Afterwards, we went bowling near Dunhua.

And I discovered…

…that I sucked at bowling.

This is how I throw the ball…

Needless to say, I am a proud owner of a score of 18 on my second game. 🙁

That was because all of my guy friends kept on teaching me the right form of throwing the bowling bowl.

It must not have worked because the ball kept on rolling to the gutter!

Finally, I did it my way and got a score of 60+!

But seriously, if I want to go bowling more often, I should practice!

A score of 18 is too embarrassing to mention.

=======================================

On Sunday, I went to watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire with friends at Miramar.

It’s one of the movies which you need to watch, just because everyone’s watching it.

I actually did bump into a few acquaintances that day.

Overall, it was entertaining…

…but overrated.

Full of choppy sequences, the movie lacked the oomph and intensity that was present in its predecessor (HP 3).

But a good watch nevertheless.

Afterwards, we enjoyed a quick 15-minute ride at the Miramar ferris wheel.

Thank God we got free tickets because one ride costs a freakingly expensive NT$300 per head!

With twinkling citylights in a distance, it’s beautiful at night though.

Quite romantic in fact if you don’t mind the expensive entrance fee.

The best places for privacy are in the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock position if you’re curious.

Finally, tired from a busy weekend, we decided to head back for a simple salad dinner and a TV marathon of Alias.

All-in-all, it was a relaxing weekend.

Now’s the start of a busy week again. 🙁

Not really looking forward to it, but it must be done.

Fact that my ex is coming to Taiwan is a complication as well.

*big sigh*

Lord, help me survive this hellish weekend…
