Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!

It’s the first day of the year, and guess what I did when I woke up at 1:30 PM in the afternoon, after sleeping at 7AM in the morning?

I started folding clothes…

And cleaning up my room!

After at least a month of laziness, I got out of my lazy butt to clean up my room and it’s now spic and span!

Which unfortunately means that I’ll be cleaning up my room for the rest of the year (alluding to the superstition that what you do in January 1st, you’ll be doing for the rest of the year). 🙁

*groan*

Anyhow, I’m not really complaining… my room was a mess, and I needed to clean it up someday. And since I had the energy to do it at the first day of 2006, then why not?

Afterwards, I went out for a pizza dinner with a friend where we talked about our leadership experiences. It was nice, though I’d bet I’ll regret the amount of calories I ate. I then spent an hour talking to another friend on the phone.

Ah… a perfectly nice, peaceful day.

=============================================

The last day of 2005 was pretty uneventful. But of course, I partied the entire night!

First stop was a hotpot party at Ken’s house.

If you’re invited at least 20 people and you want to save on effort and $$$, the best food to serve is hotpot.

All you have to do is prepare chicken soup, several hotpot ingredients (e.g., dumplings, vegetables, tomatoes, duck blood, and more), egg, satay and soy sauce and meat, and you’re good to go!

Everyone can just stand around and serve themselves! Yummy!

At around 9:30PM, I left Ken’s house to go to Agora Café for some sexy, hip partying! It’s NT$600 for all you can eat and drink! Not a bad deal at all, especially since it’s new year’s!

Despite the awful MRT crowd, I got there around 10:30PM. Unfortunately, it was too early (despite the invitation saying it’s going to start at 9PM) and the party wasn’t happening yet.

No fear. Despite being full, God help me but I served myself to some delicious salmon, pork knuckle, pasta and sweets! Yum! Yum!

However, since my friends were stuck in traffic, I had to hobnob with some acquaintances instead, and watched the beautiful fireworks going off at Taipei 101 at a distance.

It was beautiful.

Too bad it’s only a freaking 2 minutes long!

(*#@()&$#&$)(*#@)(*#!)(@!

It’s in these moments that you wished you were back home in the Philippines.

Anyway, it was still a great show, though I can now officially say, I celebrated the beginning of 2006 alone.

But not for long!

12:30PM, my friends finally came and we proceeded to party the entire night till 3AM and they kicked us out from the place.

But of course, the day isn’t over yet…. I did promise myself I was going to party the entire night!

So, we went to NY Bagels HsinYi for some breakfast, and stayed there till around 6AM!

Pretty cool, huh?

Nothing better than partying the entire night and eating breakfast come dawn.

=============================================

Since it’s the New Year, I guess, I could share with you my new year’s resolution.

It’s very simple — Simplify my life.

I have enough complication and mess in my life last year. 2006 is time for a new beginning!

That means, cleaning up my room… check!

Cleaning up my love life…

Cleaning up my diet… (gotta lose all the pounds I put on this December!)

And just basically getting to know myself more, what I can do and what I want in the future.

In the past couple of days, I’ve realized how valuable I am, and how much I deserve all the best in the world. Now’s the time to forget all the crap that went on in 2005, and just be a better person in 2006!

How about you? What are your New Year’s resolutions? 🙂
